With $10M investment, Eventcombo to establish Calgary HQ, create 250 jobs
“Eventcombo’s decision to anchor its operations in Alberta is evidence of the opportunities available here,” said Rick Christiaanse, CEO of Invest Alberta.
Eventcombo, an event technology platform, is investing $10 million over three years to expand its operations and establish a new headquarters in Calgary.
With the support of Invest Alberta and Calgary Economic Development, the company said it intends to create 250 jobs.
“Our mission for global expansion is being accelerated due to rapid adoption of event technology, which has led to increased demand from our existing customer base in the US. To facilitate this growth, we have found a welcoming ecosystem here in Calgary,” said Saroosh Gull, CEO, Eventcombo, in a statement. “With a booming talent transformation and a focus on innovation, we see tremendous opportunities to make a global impact right from within Alberta.”
Eventcombo simplifies event management and marketing an all-in-one event technology. The company has recently collaborated with local organizations Alberta Innovates and Amii (Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute). Those partnerships have focused on incorporating artificial intelligence into event technology and changing the way events are planned, executed, and analyzed.
Calgary Economic Development has also partnered with Eventcombo to deliver its events including the flagship economic forecast event, 2024 Economic Outlook, which will be hosted on Eventcombo’s all-in-one event tech solution.
In line with their mandate to drive local economic growth, Invest Alberta and Calgary Economic Development supported Eventcombo’s plans to relocate to Alberta by helping to navigate the local business and investment landscape and making introductions to service providers and partners.
“Eventcombo’s decision to anchor its operations in Alberta is evidence of the opportunities available here,” said Rick Christiaanse, CEO of Invest Alberta, in a statement. “Alberta’s world-class talent and state-of-the-art research create the ideal conditions for companies like Eventcombo to innovate, flourish, and revolutionize their industries.”
Brad Parry, president and CEO of Calgary Economic Development, said Eventcombo’s selection of Calgary is a testament to its attractive business environment, livability and talent. “We offer a winning combination for game-changing companies looking to solve global challenges,” he added.
