$108M investment in sustainable manufacturing puts Calgary companies in the spotlight
Next Generation Manufacturing Canada is putting $108 million behind 13 sustainable manufacturing projects nationwide, and Calgary companies are making their mark. The funding combines $37 million from NGen with $71 million from industry partners to help manufacturers go greener while boosting productivity.
Carbon Upcycling Technologies, the Calgary company that's becoming a household name in clean tech, is partnering with CRH Canada on what could be a game-changer: sustainable cement made using carbon capture technology. Fellow Calgary innovator Carbonova Corp. is also in the mix, working with local partner Oilify New-Tech Solutions on high-tech composite materials.
The projects span everything from turning industrial waste into useful materials to processing ocean plastics, showing how Canadian manufacturers are embracing innovation to build a cleaner future. As NGen CEO Jayson Myers puts it, these clean technologies deliver environmental benefits while driving real productivity gains for business.
