Five local startups to compete in Calgary Summit XI finals

2024 Startup TNT Summit winners received an average of $210K each.

For five Calgary startups, the road to Startup TNT’s Calgary investment summit — a journey that began in March alongside countless other hopefuls — has nearly come to an end. After being narrowed down to a list of the region’s top 20 startups, founders participated in a public pitch night in April. The group was cut in half as the remaining ten underwent detailed due diligence.

And at last, we have the final five.

This healthtech startup provides AI-driven automation solutions for pharmacies. The company aims to free up pharmacists’ time by automating a wide range of routine interactions and allowing them to focus more on patient care. Pharma Pilot says their services can save pharmacies up to 60 hours per month and potentially increase annual revenue by approximately $60,000.

If quantum technology still sounds like science fiction to you, this company is going to impress. Quantized Technologies (QTi) specializes in quantum-secure communication solutions. Originating from research at the University of Calgary, QTi’s mission is to develop technologies to protect classical network communications against threats posed by quantum computing and advanced AI.

This homegrown proptech startup helps homebuilders and developers sell upgrades by using a 3D visualization platform to showcase their designs. Last June, ResVR earned some big bucks through their oversubscribed seed funding round, which closed a total of $1.7M CAD in aggregate, including $1.43M in pre-seed and seed funding and $270,000 in non-dilutive capital.

Anyone who’s had to sit in a wheelchair — or really any chair — for a long period of time knows the pain of continued pressure on your joints. Aside from the discomfort, it can lead to pressure injuries and impact a person’s quality of life. Medtech startup Tarkka has set out to change that with their custom-contoured seating solutions that proactively address the primary causes of pressure injuries—pressure, friction/shear, and microclimate.

Founded in 2020, this local fintech startup is aiming to simplify the process of buying a small business, making entrepreneurship through acquisition more accessible. The company’s platform combines technology, expert advice, and community support to guide aspiring business owners through every stage of the acquisition journey.

The final five startups don’t have long to wait — Startup TNT’s Summit XI finale takes place in Calgary on May 1. The event will see founders pitch live to a room full of investors, founders, and tech community members in the hopes of taking home anywhere from $150,000-$500,000 or more.
